The TCP for Whiptail will be produced at Strohm’s manufacturing facility in the Netherlands and delivered on a single reel to Guyana for water and gas injection. Once onsite, the jumper will be spooled off to the desired jumper length, cut, terminated, tested and mated with a connector system. The 24 jumpers, made of carbon fiber and PA12 polymer, will be installed at water depths over 5,250 ft and operate in pressures of 10,000 psi.
TechnipFMC also won a large contract to supply subsea production systems for the Whiptail project. The technology provider will supply project management, engineering and manufacturing services to deliver 48 subsea trees, 12 manifolds and associated equipment. So far, TechnipFMC has delivered more than 100 subsea trees for Exxon Mobil, said Jonathan Landes, president of subsea at TechnipFMC.
